Returning to Our SVN Roots!

Look out for our updated branding.

In a few weeks, we’re making our name change from Social Venture Circle back to Social Venture Network official!

Why this change? As mentioned in a previous newsletter from our board, our identity, both as a community and as a brand, was a central theme in many of our recent conversations. One outcome from our RISE un-conference was a clear desire to highlight and celebrate the strength of our network and the rich history of our community by taking back our SVN name.

This change is not just a nod to our rich history of positive impact, it also reflects our unwavering commitment to the principles that define us. These values are integral to our purpose, deeply woven into the work we do, and reflective of how we engage with the world. As we navigate significant systemic changes, our dedication to equity, inclusion, belonging, and fostering a harmonious relationship with the natural world remains central to our mission.

We also recognize the importance of acknowledging past harms, learning from them, and engaging in the necessary healing work together. This commitment ensures that we are not only an evolving organization but also one that is actively skilling up to better face the challenges of tomorrow. Through this process, we aim to become stronger leaders, more capable of creating the positive change our world needs.

What this means for you:

  • If you have a membership with us (which we hope you do!), this will not affect your membership.

  • You will notice changes in our branding across various touchpoints, including our website and emails, as we begin to initiate our legacy SVN branding.

  • Over the next few weeks, you’ll start receiving emails from addresses ending in @svn.org (e.g., sara@svn.org, admin@svn.org). Don't worry—we'll still receive emails sent to @svcircle.org addresses for the next year. Please update your contact lists with our new email addresses when you receive them.

  • You will still receive newsletters from this account: board@svcircle.org for the next several months, but you will soon begin to receive emails from news@svn.org. Please add this email to your address book.

We acknowledge that for some, there may be complex feelings associated with the SVN brand. As we move forward, we are committed to fostering open discussions about healing and strengthening our community identity. This is part of our ongoing journey of reinvention and growth as a community.

Your feedback is invaluable, and we welcome your thoughts and feedback on this transition. Please feel free to reach out to us at support@svn.org with any questions or comments.
